Before

GENERAL
1.
Check out our packages to see if any of them suit the work you are hoping to capture.
2.
We’ll chat via email about your brief and I’ll ask you to fill in a briefing form if required.
3. If you’d like to proceed, a compulsory 50% deposit is issued to book in your preferred date and needs to be paid before the commencement of the shoot.
4. Depending on the job size, we may work as a team or Tatanja will work solo. In some instances like dual shooting we always work together as a team.
5. Let us know if you have accessibility requirements like no flashing lights as we have alternatives we can use should the shoot require additional light sources.
6. If we’re coming to you (ie. studio), please send us photos of your space where we can see both the flooring and ceiling of the areas you want to utilise.
7. Ask any burning questions you have! We are here to help.

VIDEOGRAPHY SPECIFIC
1. You deliver branding collateral, copy and any video/music references before our shoot commences. If you have a branding style guide, please send it through with any fonts.
2. Plan an outfit that avoids stripes and fine patterns as they don’t capture well and cause an effect called moire.

During

GENERAL
1.
On the day of the shoot, make sure you have plenty of water and a meal beforehand (especially if you’re feeling nervous). I promise it will be a very easy going and positive experience.
2. I may ask to arrive 10-15 minutes early if set up is required.
3. I will set up my equipment. We generally shoot with one camera and one off camera flash for bounce, but we may have studio lights that require access to power.
4. We will talk about your brief and goals for the shoot before commencing to ensure we’re on the same page. This is a good opportunity to chat through any ideas you want to explore.
5. If we’re working an event, make sure you explain what needs to be captured so we can work autonomously. Nominate a person on your team who we can approach with any questions.
6. We shoot for the outlined time and take breaks as needed to chat and get to know each other :-) I like to work in a casual and conversational way. Please feel free to define what feels most comfortable and safe for you so we can get the best possible photos in our time together!
7. We prefer to capture people working or using their space first, and portraits second. This helps everyone warm up and relax in to the session.
8. Please try to refrain from using judgemental or fatphobic language about yourself while we shoot. If you are feeling self conscious (which is completely fair!), let me know and we can work together to make you feel your best.
9. It goes without saying, but we do not tolerate racism, transphobia, ableism, homophobia, sexism or fatphobia while onsite and reserve the right to leave if we feel unsafe.

VIDEOGRAPHY SPECIFIC
1. Be prepared to do multiple takes if needed. We may ask you to stage some shots like putting things away or showcasing a product, but we will keep it natural and fun.

After

PHOTOGRAPHY
1. Within 5 business days* you will receive an online gallery to choose your top picks for post production. The photos will have been pre-edited, but expect them to be sharpened and brightened where necessary.
2. Use the gallery to make a favourites list and let me know when you are finished.
3. We can send you the per unit cost for buying additional photographs.
4. We do not edit people’s bodies or faces so you will need to let us know if you would like anything specific edited (we’re happy to within reason!)
5. I retouch the chosen photographs and digitally deliver them via Dropbox as hi-res files.
6. You will receive the final invoice once files have been approved and it is due within 7 days.

VIDEOGRAPHY
1. Post production begins, including sourcing royalty free music.
2. First cut of the video/s is delivered 7-10 business days* after our shoot.
3. One round of refinements is offered if necessary. Changes after this round are charged as author’s corrections (30 min increments) so make sure you compile all feedback in to the single email!
4. Final file is rendered and delivered to the client via Dropbox.
5. You will receive the final invoice once files have been approved and it is due within 7 days.

*The timeline can vary based on the size of the job and number of deliverables supplied. Check our packages or your quote for a refined timeline.

“I truly don’t know any other photographers who capture people and spaces with as much creativity and care as Tatanja. She notices the small, personal details that few others do, and this attentiveness is truly invaluable - especially when you’re working within a creative field. Tatanja has an incredible ability to make you feel at ease (no small feat when you’re working with two very camera shy people!) and working with her always feels like a good catch up rather than a work shoot - yet time and time again, we’re blown away by what she captures in these moments.

Tatanja has been instrumental in our businesses growth, and I do (and will continue to!) recommend her to everyone I know.”

About Us

Located in Maidstone, Naarm (Melbourne) – On Jackson Street is a platform for sharing and creating work that can branch from photography and videography, through to design, illustration and typography. We particularly enjoy working alongside artists and small businesses to capture content that will amplify their own personal storytelling. Our working style is unobtrusive, collaborative and positive. We work hard to nurture relationships with our clients and involve them in each step of the process to ensure they are happy with the results, which has successfully expanded our portfolio to many regular clients and friends.

On Jackson Street strongly believes in nurturing environments where empowered people can express themselves freely and with positivity. We do not tolerate racism, transphobia, homophobia, xenophobia, ableism, or sexism.

OJS is run by Tatanja Ross, with occassional onsite assistance from Oliver Page-Dutton. Outside of our work we love film, powerlifting, and working on creative projects at home.
